Hi Sugar NJ, I had Butrans patches for renal pain & hated them! The drug is an opiate & an opiate antagoniser which is crazy! hence it nulled the effect of the other opiates I was taking & put me in withdrawal! Fentanyl patches were equally unhelpful for me as they are slow release & renal pain needs fast release meds.
